About The Book
Good, Evil and the Stuff In Between
History of the novel
I started writing this book a long time ago. I was working both at a skateboard shop and a kiosk in the mall that sold oversized, overpriced bedazzled shirts that I sold mostly to drug dealers. While working at the kiosk, I had a lot of free time on my hands. I sat in a chair, listened to music, read books, and wrote short stories because I was really getting into writing. I wrote short stories and put them up on facebook because, well, if you're going to write something, what's the point unless everyone you'd ever met in your lifetime reads it? Exactly. There is no point.
Anyways, one such short story was about how an angel and a demon fell in love with each other. Then, thinking it was actually an interesting idea, it got a little bit longer when I wrote them as having kids. And then it got longer when I made those kids a have a special talent, and then it got longer and longer as I added more plot, more characters and had more and more time in between selling XXXXL tall tee's with plastic diamonds on them to people who sold cocaine to other people and pushing all the t-shirt racks out of the way in the skate shop and playing games of SKATE with the other employees and the manager. Then, I left Canada and lived in Colorado for a couple of years, where all writing was put on hold. When I came back to Canada, I got married, which took a lot of time, and then one day I pulled out the pad of paper i had a whole bunch of writings in it, where I remembered that I had been writing a book, and I decided to start putting that into a computer, just in case I decided to start lighting random things on fire, and the book got destroyed.
From there, I knocked up my lovely wife, and decided it would be best for my family if I could actually help them survive, so I moved them to a different province and started working for a living. Somewhere in between working, trying to be a good husband and father, and going to school so I could properly carpent, I finished the book. Then I realized that it was about 250,000 words too long and no rational publisher would take on a new author, with no education in writing, or literature, or anything related, past what I learned in the 12th grade, with novel that had such a high word count. That's when I learned about self publishing, and that I could still publish my book, but that it would have to be funded out of my own pocket. That is now what I'm currently trying to do, but with your help because, holy freaking crap, is it ever expensive to publish your own book.
So thank you for your interest (and your money!), because without that, the book will never see the light of day.
